Honeymoon in Kodaikanal

Honeymoon in Kodaikanal – Breathtakingly beautiful, Kodaikanal, or simply Kodai is an idyllic summer retreat in the Palani Hills within the Western Ghats. Tranquil and serene, Kodai is a perfect honeymoon destination. At 2195 m above sea level, Kodai enjoys a cool temperate climate and harbours a rare range of flora. Its star shaped lake, the Silver Cascade waterfall and Bear Shola falls are fine places to spend time at. Skirting the lake is a steep wooded slope, the Coaker’s Walk which permits fantastic views of the surrounding hills. The drive to Green Valley View is a must do in Kodai, with bewitching views of the valley and the Vaigai Dam.

Pillar Rocks are a series of three pillars dropping to sudden depths of 112 m and are a magnificent sight when the sun and the mists play hide and seek. Two of the pillars form the Guna Cave which seems to lead to nothingness.

At the Berijam Lake 21 km from Kodai, you can spend your day relaxing by the pine forests and wait for the mists to envelop you. You can trek 9 km up to the Kavunji village or further up to Polur to view the waterfalls and the enchanting landscapes. Remember to take the District Forest Officer’s permission, however before you take to Berijam.
